Expected Eid-ul-Fitr Date 2026: Shawwal Moon Likely on March 20

Islamabad: Astronomical calculations suggest that the chances of sighting the Shawwal 1447 AH moon on March 19, 2026 are very low. Experts say the moon will be too young to be seen with the naked eye in most parts of the world on that evening.

According to these estimates, the crescent is expected to be clearly visible on March 20, 2026, making it possible for many countries to confirm the beginning of Shawwal on that day.

Based on this prediction, Eid-ul-Fitr is most likely to fall on Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Pakistan and several other countries.

However, religious authorities and official moon-sighting committees in each country will make the final announcement after actual moon sighting on the relevant date.
