Pakistan – A high-level corruption scandal has surfaced at the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), prompting the Prime Minister’s Office to take swift action.

According to sources, multiple complaints were received by the Prime Minister’s Office, alleging widespread corruption, abuse of power, and favoritism by PPRA officials. The complaints accused the PPRA’s Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) of consistently ruling in favor of contractors, resulting in staggering losses to the national exchequer.

The Prime Minister, taking notice of the serious allegations, directed the Cabinet Division to intervene. A letter was subsequently sent to PPRA officials, instructing them to submit the matter to the PPRA Board for immediate investigation.

The scandal has sent shockwaves through the organization, with several high-ranking officials facing allegations of corruption and misconduct. The majority of the cases in question involve prominent government agencies, including the National Highway Authority (NHA), Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD), and the power sector.

As the investigation unfolds, the nation waits with bated breath for the outcome, hoping that justice will be served and accountability will be ensured. The Prime Minister’s prompt action has been hailed as a positive step towards rooting out corruption and promoting transparency in public procurement processes.
