Pakistan’s Muhammad Zubair has become the new Tekken 8 world champion after winning the championship at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Paris.
Zubair delivered an impressive performance in the grand final, defeating South Korea’s LowHigh 5-0. The dominant victory helped him secure the title after a difficult journey through the tournament.
The Tekken 8 competition was held from August 5 to August 8, bringing together some of the best Tekken players from around the world.
Difficult Start for Zubair
Zubair did not have an easy path to the championship. He faced several strong opponents during the tournament and had to win important matches to remain in the competition.
One of his biggest challenges came against fellow Pakistani player Arslan “Ash” Siddique, one of the most successful Tekken players in the world.
Zubair defeated Arslan during the second group stage on Friday, earning an important win and moving closer to the final stages of the competition.

Zubair and Arslan met again in the semifinals on Saturday.
The semifinal became one of the most exciting matches of the tournament. Both players fought closely, with neither able to gain a clear advantage for much of the match.
Zubair eventually won the intense contest 5-4, defeating the eight-time Evolution Championship Series (Evo) champion and securing his place in the grand final.
The victory was especially important because Arslan is widely regarded as one of the strongest Tekken players in the competitive scene.

After reaching the final, Zubair faced South Korea’s LowHigh.
Unlike the close semifinal against Arslan, the grand final was heavily controlled by Zubair.
He won the series 5-0, giving LowHigh no opportunity to make a comeback. Zubair’s dominant performance allowed him to finish his championship run in impressive fashion.
