The Honor X9a is a stylish smartphone designed for users who want a beautiful display, a slim body, reliable performance, and a good camera experience. It became popular because of its curved AMOLED screen, lightweight design, and large battery. The phone is suitable for people who use social media, watch videos, take pictures, browse the internet, and enjoy everyday mobile gaming.

Honor introduced the X9a as a mid-range smartphone with a strong focus on design and display quality. Its curved screen gives it a premium look, while its 5,100mAh battery helps users stay connected throughout the day. The phone also comes with a 64MP main camera, a 40W fast-charging system, and a Snapdragon processor.

For Pakistani users, the Honor X9a can be an interesting option in the used-phone market, especially for those who want a premium-looking phone without buying an expensive flagship device. However, its current price depends on the phone’s condition, storage variant, PTA approval status, and seller.

This review covers the Honor X9a’s design, display, performance, cameras, battery, software, expected buying experience, and important specifications.

Honor X9a Price in Pakistan

The listed price of the Honor X9a in Pakistan is around Rs. 129,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, according to WhatMobile. However, this price may not match the amount charged by every shop, especially in the used-phone market.

Honor X9a Full Specifications

The following table covers the main specifications of the Honor X9a.

Note: The advertised battery capacity is 5,100mAh typical, with a rated capacity of 5,000mAh. Software availability and specifications can vary by market and device version

Design and Build Quality

The Honor X9a has a modern design that makes it look more expensive than many ordinary mid-range smartphones. Its slim body, curved screen edges, and circular camera section on the back give it a premium appearance.

The phone measures approximately 7.9mm in thickness and weighs around 175 grams. This makes it relatively light and easy to carry in a pocket or small bag. Users who spend several hours using their phones may also appreciate its comfortable size.

Honor has placed the rear cameras inside a circular design that stands out from the back panel. This gives the phone a different look compared with devices that use a simple rectangular camera island.

The Honor X9a is available in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Titanium Silver. Each colour offers a different style, allowing buyers to choose according to their personal taste.

Another important feature is the reinforced glass used for the curved display. Honor has tested the screen against different types of impact, but this does not mean the phone is unbreakable. A protective case and screen protector are still sensible choices, especially for users who carry their phones everywhere.

Display Quality and Viewing Experience

The display is one of the biggest selling points of the Honor X9a. It features a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. This provides clear text, detailed images, and rich colours for everyday use.

The curved edges give the screen a premium appearance and help the display cover most of the front side. Whether you are scrolling through Facebook, watching YouTube videos, reading news, or browsing websites, the large screen offers plenty of viewing space.

The phone also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. In simple words, this feature allows supported screen movements to appear smoother than on a standard 60Hz display. Scrolling through menus, switching between apps, and moving through social media feeds can feel more responsive.

The AMOLED technology helps produce deep blacks and bright colours. It is especially useful when watching movies, viewing pictures, or using apps with dark themes. The screen supports a wide range of colours, while its listed high-brightness mode reaches up to 800 nits, helping with outdoor viewing.

Honor has also included high-frequency screen dimming technology to reduce visible flickering in certain low-light situations. The display is certified for low blue-light emissions, although comfortable screen use still depends on brightness settings and personal habits.

Overall, the Honor X9a’s display remains a strong feature for people who care about screen quality and smooth scrolling.

Performance and Processor

The Honor X9a runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor, which is built using a 6nm process. It is a mid-range chipset designed to balance everyday performance, network support, and power use.

For normal tasks, the phone is suitable for WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, web browsing, online shopping, and other common applications. Users can switch between several apps, although the experience will depend on how many apps are running and how much storage space remains available.

The Adreno 619 graphics processor handles the phone’s graphics. It can run many popular mobile games, but it is not designed to deliver the same gaming performance as expensive flagship phones.

Games such as PUBG Mobile may run well with suitable graphics settings, but players should not expect every demanding game to run at the highest settings with a consistently high frame rate. Performance can also change with temperature, software updates, and game optimisation.

The device includes 8GB of physical RAM and supports Honor RAM Turbo, which uses part of the internal storage to provide additional virtual memory. This can help with multitasking, but virtual RAM is not a direct replacement for physical RAM.

The 256GB internal storage gives users space for applications, pictures, videos, documents, and downloaded files. The listed model does not offer a memory card slot, so buyers who store large amounts of media should consider their storage needs before purchasing.

For everyday users, the processor offers a reasonable balance between performance and battery use. Heavy gamers and people who need powerful video-editing tools may prefer a newer or faster device.

Honor X9a Camera Review

The Honor X9a comes with a triple rear camera system. It includes a 64MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 16MP camera for selfies and video calls.

64MP Main Camera

The main camera is designed to capture detailed photos in good lighting. It is suitable for everyday photography, family pictures, outdoor scenes, and social media posts.

16MP Front Camera

The front camera is useful for selfies, video calls, and short videos. Its results will depend on lighting, camera settings, and how you use the phone.

64MP Main Camera

The 64MP main camera is the most important camera on the back of the phone. It can capture detailed images in daylight, making it suitable for taking pictures of people, buildings, food, and outdoor locations.

For the best results, users should try to take pictures in good lighting. Image quality may become weaker in dark rooms or at night, where noise and loss of detail can become more noticeable.

5MP Ultra-Wide Camera

The 5MP ultra-wide camera allows users to capture a wider view of a scene. It can be helpful when taking group photos or photographing buildings and landscapes.

However, its lower resolution means it may not capture the same level of detail as the main camera. For important pictures, the main sensor is generally the better option.

2MP Macro Camera

The 2MP macro camera is designed for close-up pictures of small objects. Users can try it for flowers, leaves, and other nearby subjects.

Its results are best treated as an additional photography feature rather than a major reason to buy the phone.

Front Camera for Selfies

The 16MP front camera supports selfies and video calls. It can be useful for students, office workers, content creators, and people who regularly communicate with friends and family online.

The phone supports video recording at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second with its listed camera specifications. It does not offer the same advanced video features found on many premium smartphones.

Battery Life and Charging

Battery performance is another important part of the Honor X9a. Honor lists a typical battery capacity of 5,100mAh, with a rated capacity of 5,000mAh. The phone also supports 40W wired fast charging.

The battery is suitable for people who use their phones throughout the day. Normal activities such as messaging, browsing, making calls, watching videos, and checking social media should be manageable without frequent charging, although actual battery life depends on usage.

For example, someone who mainly uses WhatsApp and makes occasional calls may get longer battery life than a person who plays games, watches videos for hours, or keeps the screen brightness high.

The 40W charging system helps reduce the time needed to recharge the battery compared with slower charging systems. However, actual charging speed depends on the charger, cable, temperature, and battery condition.

For the best results, use a compatible original charger and cable. When purchasing a used Honor X9a, check battery performance carefully because an older battery may not last as long as it did when the phone was new.

Software and User Experience

The Honor X9a originally launched with Android 12 and Magic UI 6.1. The interface includes the usual smartphone features, such as app notifications, home-screen customisation, privacy controls, and tools for managing applications.

Users familiar with Android phones should find the basic controls easy to understand. The interface supports common apps used in Pakistan, including WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and online banking applications, subject to their current software requirements.

Honor also introduced features such as Honor Share for file transfers between supported devices. These tools may be useful for people who own other compatible Honor products.

However, buyers should remember that the Honor X9a is an older model. Its available software version, security updates, and compatibility with future applications may differ depending on the region and device.

Before buying a used unit, open the settings menu and check the installed Android version, security patch, and available updates. It is also wise to test important apps to make sure they work properly.

Connectivity and Other Features

The Honor X9a supports 5G network technology, along with 4G LTE and older mobile network standards. This gives the phone the hardware capability to connect to compatible 5G networks where the required service and coverage are available.

It also includes dual Nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC in supported versions, and a USB Type-C port. An under-display fingerprint sensor provides a convenient way to unlock the device.

These features make the phone suitable for everyday communication and internet use. However, 5G support does not guarantee that the service will work everywhere. Network availability depends on local operators, coverage, and supported frequency bands.

People who use wireless earphones, smartwatches, or other accessories should also check compatibility before purchasing.

Is the Honor X9a Good for Gaming?

The Honor X9a can handle casual gaming and many popular mobile games. Its Snapdragon 695 processor and Adreno 619 graphics provide enough power for regular gaming sessions.

The 120Hz display can make supported menus and compatible games feel smoother. However, the screen’s refresh rate does not mean every game will run at 120 frames per second.

Players who enjoy PUBG Mobile or similar games should choose graphics settings according to the game’s performance. Lower settings may provide a more stable experience in demanding situations.

If gaming is your main priority, compare the Honor X9a with newer phones that have more powerful processors and better graphics performance.

Should You Buy the Honor X9a in Pakistan?

The Honor X9a remains worth considering for people who value display quality, attractive design, and everyday performance. Its curved AMOLED screen gives it a premium appearance, while its slim body makes it easy to carry.

It is a reasonable option for students, office workers, social media users, and people who mainly use their phones for calls, messaging, videos, photography, and browsing.

However, its value depends heavily on the price. Since it is an older model, buyers should compare it with newer phones available in the same budget. Pay particular attention to software support, camera quality, battery condition, and repair costs.

For used-phone buyers, also check the screen for green lines, dead pixels, touch problems, and signs of previous repairs. Confirm the PTA status and IMEI before making a payment.

Final verdict: The Honor X9a is a stylish mid-range smartphone with an excellent display for its class, a capable main camera, and a slim design. Its older processor and software are the main points to consider before buying it in 2026.
