Pakistan Embassy in Moscow Holds Somber Pakistan Day Ceremony in Wake of Terror Attacks

Moscow, March 23, 2024

The celebratory mood at the Pakistan Embassy in Moscow for Pakistan Day was dampened today following the horrific terrorist attacks that struck the city. The ceremony was cut short to observe a moment of solemn silence in remembrance of the victims and those injured in the attacks.

Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali strongly condemned the acts of terror, expressing deep empathy for the Russian people.

“Pakistan has been a steadfast ally in the fight against terrorism for far too long,” the Ambassador said. “We understand the immense pain such acts inflict, having lost over 100,000 innocent lives to this very menace. We stand in solidarity with Russia during this difficult time.”

Following the moment of silence, Ambassador Jamali read messages of condolence from both the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. The ceremony then continued with the traditional flag hoisting to commemorate Pakistan Day.
