Over 100,000 Students Register for CM Punjab’s Motorcycle Scheme

Over 100,000 students have enthusiastically registered for Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s innovative motorcycle scheme, which aims to provide affordable mobility options to students across the province. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has reported an overwhelming response, with over 16,000 online applications received through the dedicated portal. Notably, more than 13,000 students have expressed interest in petrol bikes, while approximately 3,800 students have shown preference for electric motorcycles.

Students hailing from various cities such as Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi are eligible to apply for this scheme before the initial deadline on April 29th.

Under this initiative, students can avail themselves of petrol motorcycles and electric bikes through convenient monthly instalment plans, facilitated by the Punjab government’s provision of the down payment. Moreover, the provincial government has committed to covering the interest payments in monthly instalments, further easing the financial burden on students.

Launched as part of the Chief Minister Youth Initiative on April 12, the project aims to distribute 20,000 bikes to deserving students. Male students can benefit from monthly instalments of Rs 11,676, while female students can access the offer at Rs 7,325 per month.

To ensure equitable access, motorcycles will be distributed based on the population density of each district within Lahore.

Eligible students keen on availing themselves of this opportunity can submit their applications before the deadline on April 29, 2024, through the official website of the Punjab government. This initiative not only fosters student mobility but also aims to alleviate financial constraints, enabling students to pursue their educational aspirations with greater ease.

To apply for this scheme, eligible students can kick-start the registration process by clicking on this link.
