Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Meets Founder of Chinese Company Transsion Holdings

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had a significant meeting before his China visit. He sat down with Mr. Jojo Jiang, the founder and chairman of Transsion Holdings, a prominent Chinese company, in Shenzhen. During their discussion, Mr. Jiang gave the Prime Minister a rundown of their ongoing operations in Pakistan, their global revenue, and their plans for further investment in the country.

Mr. Jiang highlighted that Chinese Company Transsion Holdings already has a unit in Pakistan, which is producing mobile phones and has provided employment to over 5,000 Pakistanis. He expressed the company’s interest in expanding its investment in Pakistan, particularly in the mobile phone sector, which would lead to increased exports from the country.

The Chinese company is eyeing investment opportunities in various sectors in Pakistan, including mobile phone production, electric bikes, modern agriculture, and fintech. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed his ministers and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China to work closely with Transsion Holdings to swiftly draft a memorandum of understanding (MoU). He assured that the Pakistani government is dedicated to facilitating foreign investors and business ventures in the country.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urged Transsion Holdings to consider manufacturing local products in Pakistan for export. He emphasized that Pakistan boasts abundant resources, with its youthful population being its most valuable asset.

The meeting has attended by federal ministers such as Ishaq Dar, Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Orangzeb, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal, Attaullah Tarar, and Minister of State for Commerce Shazia Fatima Khwaja. Additionally,Aamir Allawala CEO of Transsion Tecno Electronicsr epresented Pakistani business interests at the meeting.
