Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik Appointed New DG ISI

Islamabad, Pakistan – September 23, 2024: In a significant development, Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik has been appointed as the new Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), effective September 30.

Lt. Gen. Asim’s Distinguished Career

Currently serving as Adjutant General at General Headquarters (GHQ), Lt. Gen. Asim brings extensive experience to his new role:

– Commander, Infantry Division, Balochistan
– Commander, Infantry Brigade, Waziristan
– Chief Instructor, National Defence University (NDU)
– Instructor, Command and Staff College, Quetta
– Recipient of honorary sword in his course

International Recognition

Lt. Gen. Asim is a graduate of:

– Fort Leavenworth, USA
– Royal College of Defense Studies, UK
