Islamabad (Staff Reporter) — Pakistan achieved another milestone in promoting women’s sports as the 1st North Women’s Rugby 7’s Tournament 2025 was successfully organized at Jinns Rugby Ground, F-10/4, Islamabad.
A total of 12 teams from across the country participated in the championship, featuring talented young female athletes representing various universities and rugby clubs. The players showcased exceptional skills, strength, and teamwork in a highly competitive and energetic environment.
At the closing ceremony, Ms. Sherry Hina, Member of Women’s Rugby Pakistan, presented the trophy to the winning team. Speaking on the occasion, she said:
> “The participation of women in every field of sports is vital for Pakistan’s progress and a matter of pride for all those who love this country.”
She further emphasized the need for government support in promoting women’s rugby nationwide, stating that such encouragement will help young women excel and represent Pakistan on international platforms.
The event was organized by the Pakistan Rugby Union in collaboration with Asia Rugby.
A large number of spectators attended the tournament and appreciated the players’ enthusiasm, expressing hope that more such events will continue to promote rugby and women’s empowerment in Pakistan.
