KARACHI, February 2, 2026 — DIB Pakistan marked a major milestone of the 18th International Inter School Annual Rowing Regatta by hosting the Indoor Rowing Competition, concluding with a medal distribution ceremony honoring outstanding young athletes.
The high-energy indoor racing event brought together student rowers from multiple age categories, testing their endurance, strength, and technical skills. Designed as an inclusive and accessible format, the competition complements traditional on-water races and allows broader participation in the sport.
Medals were presented by Muhammad Ali Gulfaraz, who praised the dedication and discipline demonstrated by the participants. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted the role of sport in shaping character and promoting healthy lifestyles among youth.
“Platforms like the indoor rowing competition demonstrate how sport can unite young people in an environment that values effort, perseverance, and excellence,” he said. “Our aim is to continue supporting initiatives that inspire the next generation to pursue positive and active pathways.”
The indoor racing segment has become a key feature of the Regatta, reinforcing the event’s commitment to inclusivity while showcasing rowing as a performance-driven and accessible sport. It also reflects the enduring efforts of Karachi Boat Club to nurture rowing talent through quality coaching, world-class facilities, and strong safety standards.
This year’s Regatta has drawn more than 600 student athletes from over 25 schools, universities, and clubs from Pakistan and abroad, fostering cross-cultural exchange and strengthening Pakistan’s profile on the regional and international rowing stage.
