Petrol and Diesel Prices Expected to Rise on March 1

Petroleum product prices in Pakistan are likely to increase this week, with revised rates expected to take effect from 1st March 2026, pending government approval. According to Arif Habib Limited, the proposed increase could reach up to Rs. 6.8 per litre.

Petrol and Diesel Rates

  • Motor Spirit (MS) Petrol is expected to rise by Rs. 5.13 per litre, bringing the price to Rs. 263.30 per litre.

  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD) may increase by Rs. 6.8 per litre, reaching Rs. 282.50 per litre.

Reason for Price Increase

The rise in petroleum prices is mainly attributed to an increase in international oil prices, with Arab Light crude up 2.7%. A slight increase in spreads has also contributed to the hike.

For comparison, in the previous fortnight, the government raised HSD prices to Rs. 275.7 per litre and petrol to Rs. 258.17 per litre.
