Mandi Bahauddin, Pakistan – Deputy Commissioner Dr. Faisal Saleem officially launched a five-day anti-polio campaign today at the Children’s Hospital. The campaign aims to vaccinate 324,622 children under the age of five against polio and provide them with vitamin A drops.

Dr. Saleem inaugurated the campaign by personally administering polio drops to children and offered prayers for its success. He emphasized the importance of practical measures in eradicating polio and urged the nation to play its part by ensuring every child receives the vaccine.

A comprehensive effort is underway, with 70 fixed vaccination teams, 45 transit point teams, and 1,225 door-to-door teams deployed across the district. Additionally, 70 UCMOs and 242 area in-charges have been assigned to oversee the campaign. Dr. Saleem directed health officials to closely monitor the performance of these teams and conduct daily screenings to maintain the quality of the vaccination drive.

To raise public awareness, an awareness walk led by the Deputy Commissioner was held from the Children’s Hospital to the main road. The campaign underscores the commitment to protect future generations from the debilitating effects of polio.
