Xiaomi Launches Locally Assembled LED TVs in Pakistan, Overcoming Import Hurdles

LAHORE,Special Report-Xiaomi, the prominent Chinese electronics brand, has officially launched its new line of LED TVs in Pakistan. The launch, held alongside the Redmi Note 14 series launch event in Lahore, saw Muzzafar Hayat Paracha, head of Air Link, Xiaomi’s distributor in the country, unveil the new televisions. Paracha highlighted the challenges presented by Pakistan’s current economic climate and import restrictions, emphasizing that local assembly of the Xiaomi LED TVs will significantly reduce the outflow of foreign currency.

The new televisions offer a range of options, including 32-inch HD, 43-inch FHD, 55-inch UHD, 65-inch UHD, and 75-inch UHD models. For the premium market, Xiaomi is introducing the A Pro series in 65, 75, 85, and 100-inch sizes, and the top-tier MAX series in 85 and 100-inch. The company is also launching QD Mini LED TVs in 55.5-inch, 65.5-inch, and 75.5-inch sizes.
Paracha expressed confidence that most sizes, with only one or two exceptions, will be immediately available to consumers. He underscored Air Link’s crucial role as Xiaomi’s official distributor in Pakistan, and noted that their subsidiary, Select Technologies, which already handles local manufacturing of Xiaomi mobiles, is now also producing the LED TVs.
He reassured consumers that the locally assembled TVs meet international quality standards and are priced competitively to broaden market access. The initiative is expected to benefit consumers with more affordable options while simultaneously strengthening Pakistan’s economy by decreasing dependence on imports.
