Islamabad: Special Report: Pakistan’s mobile phone manufacturing and assembly sector continued its strong growth trajectory during FY 2025-26, with total mobile phone production and imports in SKD/CKD form reaching 39.23 million units, according to the latest industry data. The cumulative value of these devices stood at approximately Rs 3.94 billion (as reported in the import summary).
The data shows that Vivo emerged as the largest mobile phone brand by volume, with more than 6.14 million units, accounting for 15.66% of the total market, followed by Tecno with 5.35 million units (13.64%), Infinix with 4.40 million units (11.22%), and Samsung with 4.18 million units (10.65%). Xiaomi also maintained a strong position with over 4.08 million units, representing approximately 10.4% of total volume.
Industry analysts believe the figures demonstrate the continued success of Pakistan’s mobile device manufacturing ecosystem, where most international brands are assembling devices locally through partnerships with domestic manufacturers and assemblers.
Among local and regional brands, VGO TEL assembled approximately 597,089 devices, while ZTE crossed 730,000 units, highlighting the growing role of emerging brands in Pakistan’s telecom market.
The report also indicates that consumer demand remains concentrated in the affordable smartphone and feature phone segments, with brands such as Infinix, Tecno, Vivo, Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi collectively accounting for the overwhelming majority of market activity.
Industry stakeholders say the strong assembly volumes reflect continued investment in local manufacturing facilities, employment generation and import substitution efforts. However, they caution that future growth will depend on policy stability, exchange-rate management, consumer purchasing power and the availability of affordable devices for lower-income users.
According to the latest figures, Pakistan’s mobile phone ecosystem remains one of the country’s largest technology manufacturing sectors, producing and assembling tens of millions of handsets annually and supporting thousands of jobs across the value chain.
