Exclusive: PTI’s Islamabad Rally Request Rejected, Citing Discrimination and Security Concerns

The Islamabad administration has rejected PTI’s request to hold a rally at the Parade Ground on July 6, citing security concerns and discrimination. PTI had requested permission to hold the rally at the Parade Ground, but the administration suggested alternative locations, including Tarnol, Sri Nagar Highway, F-9 Park, and Parade Ground. However, PTI claims that these locations are far from Islamabad and have been used for rallies in the past.

PTI alleges that the administration’s decision is a violation of Article 25 of the Constitution, which guarantees equal treatment under the law. The party also claims that the alternative locations suggested are under construction, which would cause inconvenience to the public.

The district administration has stated that they will make a decision on granting permission for the rally in accordance with the law. PTI has accused the administration of discriminatory behavior and has vowed to challenge the decision.”
