PM CRACKS DOWN ON TELECOM SCAM: License Renewal Process Halted Amidst Billions in Unpaid Fees

Islamabad,Zubair kasuri

In a bold move, Prime Minister of Pakistan has intervened in the controversial telecom license renewal process, forcing the government to halt the process amidst revelations of billions of rupees in unpaid fees.

The decision comes after a secret report by law enforcement agencies exposed irregularities in the process, prompting the Prime Minister to seek an immediate explanation from the Ministry of IT and Telecom.

According to sources, the telecom companies owe over 42 billion rupees in outstanding fees, which were set to be waived off as part of the license renewal process. However, the Prime Minister’s intervention has put a stop to the process, citing legal concerns.

Industry insiders have welcomed the move, saying it is a positive step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the telecom sector. “This decision will help prevent losses to the national exchequer and ensure that telecom companies pay their dues,” said a telecom industry expert.

The government has promised to take further action based on legal advice, and industry insiders are hopeful that the matter will be resolved soon. The development is seen as a major victory for the Prime Minister’s efforts to curb corruption and ensure transparency in government dealings.
