Pakistan Government Launches Rs 88 Crore Project to Enhance Sikh Pilgrimage Experience

Lahore, Pakistan – September 2, 2024: In a bid to promote religious tourism and provide top-notch facilities to Sikh pilgrims, the Government of Pakistan has initiated a major project worth Rs 88 crore. The construction of a new residential block at Gurdwara Janam Asthan has commenced, aiming to accommodate over 500 Sikh pilgrims in 112 well-equipped rooms across seven stories.

Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs in Punjab, inaugurated the construction work. He highlighted the project’s significance and the facilities that will be provided to Sikh pilgrims.

Dr. Syed Ata-ul-Rahman, Chairman of the Matukah Waqf Property Board, and Support Corps General Secretary, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, also shared their insights on the project’s utility and benefits.

This initiative demonstrates the Pakistani government’s commitment to supporting religious tourism and ensuring the comfort and well-being of Sikh pilgrims visiting the country.
