Overseas Pakistani Claims Exploitation and Fraud by Karachi Lawyers in Inheritance Case

0

Karachi, Pakistan – An overseas Pakistani, Umair Younas, has accused multiple lawyers in Karachi of exploiting his situation and defrauding him of 35 lakh PKR while attempting to settle his late father’s inheritance case. Younas, who resides in Germany, claims he was repeatedly lied to, threatened, and overcharged by lawyers involved in his case at the High Court of Sindh.

Younas alleges that his initial lawyer, Arshad Hussain Lodhi, demanded significantly more money than originally agreed upon to process the inheritance check. He then claims to have been further victimized by Sarfaraz Ali Mangi, an employee of Rehan Aziz Malik, the current President of the Bar Association. Mangi allegedly deceived Younas about the existence of a check for his mother and then demanded exorbitant fees for a name change on his sister’s check, a request that was ultimately rejected by the court.

Younas claims Mangi even went as far as bribing hotel staff to alert him upon Younas’ arrival in Karachi, leading to a brief detention by police. While the police recognized Mangi’s fraudulent intentions, Younas claims that neither Mangi nor his employer, Rehan Aziz Malik, faced any consequences.

Despite seeking help from various institutions, including the Sindh High Court and the Sindh Bar Council, Younas feels his pleas have been ignored. He has submitted audio recordings of Mangi’s alleged lies and threats to the Pakistan Bar Council and the Sindh Bar Council as evidence.

Younas is now appealing to the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation for assistance in recovering his lost funds and resolving the fraudulent case against him. He hopes to find justice and bring attention to the alleged misconduct of these lawyers.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
