Islamabad, April 21, 2025 – The Ministry of Railways has announced a series of key personnel transfers and postings within Pakistan Railways, effective immediately, which includes the appointment of Mr. Muhammad Hanif Gul as the new Chief Operating Superintendent/Safety.
According to an official notification, Mr. Muhammad Nasir Khalily, a BS-20 Officer of the Mechanical Engineering Department, has been transferred from his position as Divisional Superintendent, Pakistan Railways, Karachi, and appointed as Project Director/PAEMS. This position was previously vacant.
Mr. Muhammad Hanif Gul, a BS-20 Officer of the Railways (C&T) Group, formerly serving as Divisional Superintendent, Pakistan Railways, Lahore, has been transferred and posted as Chief Operating Superintendent/Safety at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office in Lahore. This move fills the position previously held by Mr. Tariq Anwar Sipra.
Mr. Tariq Latif, a BS-19 officer of the Railways (C&T) Group, who was previously under orders of transfer as Director General/Vigilance (BS-20/OPS), Pakistan Railways, Headquarters Office, Lahore, is now posted as Divisional Superintendent (BS-20/OPS), Pakistan Railways, Lahore. This appointment is in place of Mr. Muhammad Hanif Gul.
The notification also states that Mr. Mehmood-ur-Rehman Lakho, a BS-19 officer of the Railways (C&T) Group, previously at the disposal of CEO/PRFTC, Karachi, has been transferred and posted as Divisional Superintendent (BS-20/OPS), Pakistan Railways, Karachi. He replaces Mr. Muhammad Nasir Khalily.
Furthermore, Mr. Tariq Anwar Sipra, a BS-19 officer of the Railways (C&T) Group, who was serving as Chief Operating Superintendent/Safety (BS-20/OPS) at the Pakistan Railways Headquarters Office, Lahore, has been transferred and posted as Director General/Public Relations (BS-20/OPS) at the same headquarters office in Lahore. This position was also vacant.
The announcement, issued by the Ministry of Railways, indicates that the transfers and postings have been approved by the Secretary/Chairman Railways.
The officers are relieved of their current duties and are directed to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
The notification was released by Deputy Director (P&P), Syeda Marzia-tu-Zahra.
