Punjab districts ranked under KPI system: Lodhran tops, Bahawalnagar second, Okara third

Lahore: The Board of Revenue Punjab has released its Key Performance Indicators (KPI) dashboard for January 2026. The report ranks districts across Punjab based on their overall administrative performance.

The evaluation covers several important areas, including revenue recovery, land record management, disposal of court cases, digitisation, and public service delivery standards. The purpose of this ranking system is to promote transparency, efficiency, and healthy competition among district administrations.

According to the official dashboard, Lodhran secured the first position with an impressive score of 96.08 points. Bahawalnagar ranked second with 94.60 points, while Okara stood third with 94.04 points. These three districts were the only ones to cross the 94-point mark, showing outstanding performance in multiple governance indicators.

The rest of the top ten districts included Narowal with 92.05 points, Jhang with 91.41 points, Chiniot with 90.96 points, Hafizabad with 88.48 points, Rajanpur with 88.01 points, Faisalabad with 87.81 points, and Bahawalpur with 87.23 points.

A large number of districts achieved scores between 80 and 89 points. These include Sahiwal, Vehari, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Mandi Bahauddin, Rahim Yar Khan, Nankana Sahib, and Sargodha. Their performance reflects steady progress in service delivery and digital reforms.

Major urban districts showed average results. Lahore recorded 80.09 points, Rawalpindi scored 78.20, Multan reached 75.64, and Sialkot stood at 74.75. These districts remained in the middle of the ranking table.

At the lower end of the list, Dera Ghazi Khan, Wazirabad, Muzaffargarh, Bhakkar, and Kot Addu reported comparatively weak performance. Kot Addu ranked last with only 46.44 points, highlighting a clear gap between high-performing and low-performing districts.

The KPI framework assesses district administrations on several benchmarks, including revenue collection targets, accuracy of land records, speed of case disposal in revenue courts, progress in digitisation, and quality of public services.

The January 2026 report shows a competitive performance environment across Punjab. While many districts are clustered around the 80-point range, a noticeable performance gap exists at the lower end, indicating the need for administrative improvements in underperforming areas.

Officials believe that such performance dashboards help strengthen accountability and encourage districts to improve governance standards for the benefit of citizens.
