US Consulate Officials Visit Kartarpur Sahib, Underscoring Importance of Interfaith Harmony

Shakargarh, Pakistan – In a significant diplomatic gesture, Ms. Monica Jacobson and Miss Kirsten Hawkins from the US Consulate General in Lahore visited the revered Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan. The visit highlighted the importance of the Kartarpur Corridor in fostering interfaith dialogue and peace.

The American diplomats were warmly welcomed by Sardar Gobind Singh, the Head Granthi of the gurdwara, and Abu Bakr Aftab Qureshi, CEO of the Project Management Unit Kartarpur Corridor. Mr. Qureshi provided a comprehensive briefing on the historical and spiritual significance of the site, emphasizing its role as the final resting place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.
Sardar Gobind Singh elaborated on the Kartarpur Corridor project, a visa-free passage allowing Indian Sikh pilgrims to visit the gurdwara. He stressed its profound impact on promoting interfaith harmony and regional peace.

The visit by US Consulate officials underscores the growing international recognition of the Kartarpur Corridor’s contribution to religious freedom and cross-border cooperation. It also signifies the US commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace and understanding in the region.
