The satellite has launched on A rocket called Long March 2C launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. A Long March 2C rocket was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. China on June 16, 2023.

The PakTES-1A is a small satellite weighing just 285 kilograms. It has equipped with a high-resolution optical payload that used to collect data on the Earth’s atmosphere and climate. The satellite has also equipped with many other sensors, including a multispectral imager, a thermal imager, and a magnetometer.

The PakTES-1A has the first satellite to launched by SUPARCO in over a decade. The launch is a significant milestone for the agency and is a sign of Pakistan’s growing space capabilities.

The satellite has expected to operational for three years. It will monitor various environmental parameters, including air quality, water quality, and land use. The data collected by the satellite used to support multiple applications, including environmental monitoring, disaster management, and climate change research.

The launch of the PakTES-1A is a significant achievement for SUPARCO and is a testament to the agency’s growing expertise in space technology. The launch also demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to space exploration and its desire to lead the global space community.

Benefits of PakTES-1A satellite

The PakTES-1A satellite has expected to have some benefits, including:

  • Monitoring the Earth’s atmosphere and climate: The satellite’s high-resolution optical payload will collect data on the Earth’s atmosphere and environment. This data used to monitor air quality, water quality, and land use.
  • Supporting disaster management: The satellite’s data will also support disaster management efforts. For example, the data could used to track the movement of cyclones and floods.
  • Promoting climate change research: The satellite’s data will also be used to promote climate change research. The data could track changes in the Earth’s atmosphere and climate.

Conclusion

Launching the PakTES-1A satellite is a significant milestone for SUPARCO and a testament to the agency’s growing expertise in space technology. The launch also demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to space exploration and its desire to lead the global space community. The satellite has expected to have many benefits, including monitoring the Earth’s atmosphere and climate, supporting disaster management efforts, and promoting climate change research.
