GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN APPOINTS VETERAN OFFICER TO LEAD FEDERAL IT SECTOR

Islamabad, Zubair kasuri: Move widely hailed as a masterstroke, the Government of Pakistan has appointed Mr. Azfar Manzoor, a seasoned and highly experienced BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, as Special Secretary, Information Technology and Telecommunication Division, with immediate effect.

The appointment of Mr. Manzoor, who brings with him a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of excellence in the field, is seen as a major boost to the government’s efforts to revolutionize the federal IT sector. His vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry make him the ideal candidate to lead this critical division.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Establishment Division, Mr. Manzoor, who was previously serving as Additional Secretary, Establishment Division, will take on his new role under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973.

In addition to his new posting, Mr. Manzoor has also been assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, Information Technology and Telecommunication Division, for a period of three months or until a regular incumbent is appointed, whichever is earlier.

Industry insiders and stakeholders have welcomed the appointment, praising the government for recognizing Mr. Manzoor’s exceptional leadership qualities and technical expertise. His appointment is expected to bring a new era of innovation and growth to the federal IT sector.
