Pakistan to Impose 18% Fixed Tax on Mobile Phone Assembling Companies

Islamabad: Zubair Kasuri: It is proposed to impose 18% fixed tax on mobile phone assembling companies in Pakistan. The Pakistan Telecom Authority has said that sources have informed that consultation is underway on imposing an additional 18 percent fixed tax on the manufacture of mobile phones in Pakistan. This will make it easier for FBR to achieve more tax targets.

While the mobile phone manufacturing companies have expressed serious concern in this regard and said that this will make all phones expensive in Pakistan and will also increase the smuggling of mobile phones and this will increase the number of phones without warranty in Pakistan. There will be a lot of increase.

Sources have said that already lakhs of illegal mobile phones are arriving in Pakistan every month through the airports, causing serious damage to the national exchequer.
