In a major breakthrough, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Larkana has busted a hawala/hundi racket, arresting four suspects and recovering a staggering amount of foreign currency and Pakistani rupees.
According to FIA Director Abdul Hameed Bhutto, the agency had been tracking the suspects for months before conducting a raid that yielded:
– 11,625 UAE dirhams
– 2,810 Saudi riyals
– $100 US dollars
– Qatari riyals
– Iraqi dinars
– Various prize bonds
– Pakistani currency worth Rs. 2.65 million
The arrested suspects, identified as Imtiaz Ali, Rahim Bakhsh, Mumtaz Ali, and Altaf Shaikh, are believed to be key players in the hawala/hundi network.
An FIR has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
The FIA’s crackdown on hawala/hundi activities is part of a broader effort to combat financial crimes and ensure the integrity of Pakistan’s financial system.
