A high-level delegation from the Polio Oversight Board visited Pakistan recently, holding crucial meetings with top officials in Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. Led by Dr. Christopher Elias, Chair of the Polio Oversight Board, the delegation met with the Prime Minister, Provincial Chiefs, Ministers of Health, and security leadership to discuss the ongoing efforts to eradicate polio from the country.
During the meetings, the delegation emphasized the need for sustained political commitment to wipe out polio and discussed strategies to address the remaining challenges in the path to polio eradication. The delegation commended the federal and provincial governments for their resolve and agreed to continue collaboration in the future.
