ISLAMABAD – Links School Islamabad recently celebrated its annual Sports Day at the Islamabad Sports Complex, which was a resounding success due to the enthusiastic participation of students and the presence of distinguished guests from the world of sports and education.
The highlight of the event was the presence of former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister and Provincial Minister KP Ajmal Wazir as the chief guest. They were accompanied by renowned tennis champion [a national champion] Mehwish Khan, whose presence inspired the young players.
Key figures from the administration of Links School were also present, including the school MD Mrs. Misbah Khurshid and Principal Mrs. Zarmin. They observed the athletic prowess of the students and appreciated their achievements.
Students from different grades showcased their skills in track and field events as well as other sports [basketball, football and volleyball]. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and healthy competition.
The presence of the distinguished guests proved to be a major motivator for the students. Both Ajmal Wazir and Mehwish Khan interacted with the students, gave them encouraging words and stressed the important role of sports in a holistic education.
Mrs. Misbah Khurshid and Mrs. Zarmin expressed their satisfaction with the event and highlighted the school’s dedication to promoting sports and physical fitness among the students. They stressed the importance of events that promote teamwork, discipline and a healthy lifestyle.
Sports Day Ending Awards The distribution ceremony took place where the winners of various events were awarded medals and certificates. The event proved to be a memorable day for the entire Links School community, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic development.
